Rix.GG has acquired the Stormtroopers roster of Jack “ApparentlyJack” Benton (ENG), Lorenzo “Dead-Monster” Tongiorgi (ITA), and Dan “Polar” Rees (ENG), Shift has learned through a release. Rix.GG has also signed on Ibrahim Taylor to be the team’s manager.
The British organisation has expanded their personnel with this venture in Rocket League following their signing of a VALORANT roster in July.
This roster has been considered on the rise following their placement in Johnnyboi_i’s Fusion EU tournament and reaching Stage 2 of the first European RLCS X Regional Event. Benton and Tongiorgi are also touted as high level 1s players, the pair finished Top 4 and Top 6 respectively in The Salt Mine 2 EU. Additionally, Rees put on an impressive run winning epic.LAN 26, 27, and 28 in consecutive fashion in 2019.
“It has been a motivating and thrilling first few months as a roster where we have pushed against all odds and created some fantastic results. We are ecstatic to have been given the opportunity with Rix.GG and are all looking forward to a bright future with them.” said Polar in a statement.
Team manager, Ibrahim Taylor, ensures that the team will have what they need in order to succeed under the Rix.GG banner saying, “…Competing in the RLCS is one of the toughest things to do due to its high skill ceiling and demanding fixture schedule. As an organisation, we will be doing everything in our power to support these players and ensure they can perform to their peak.”
Jamie Lewis, founder of Rix.GG, expressed his excitement with the signing of the roster stating, “Jack, Dan, and Lorenzo are all incredibly talented, and we’re extremely proud to have them on our team.”
The Rix.GG Rocket League roster expects to clinch a spot in the third Regional Event for the European RLCS X Fall Split and it would mark the first time the former Stormtroopers roster will play under their new banner.
