The North American prodigy Daniel is set to sign with Rogue. He would replace Leonardo “Turinturo” Wilson on the team, and make his RLCS debut in the Winter Split.

Rogue are set to sign another young prodigy

On the fifth of December, Daniel is turning 15 years old, the minimum age to play in RLCS events. And the first event he can participate in is the first Regional of the Winter Split. Daniel started playing Rocket League when he was just nine years old, and players started taking notice of his talent in early 2020. He has been on the grind ever since, waiting for the day he gets to play on an RLCS team.

Daniel is looking to play his rookie season on Rogue, together with Alexandre “Taroco.” Reis Pedrogam and Jirair “Gyro.” Papazian. Rogue did well in RLCS X, winning two Regional Events back to back. But when Jason “Firstkiller” Corral left to join FaZe Clan during the off-season, Rogue couldn’t get back to their old form. Daniel could help them regain a top spot in NA.

Rogue didn’t gather enough points in the Regionals to make it to the International Major in Stockholm, so they can fully focus on a strong start of the Winter Split.

Who is Daniel?

Aside from talent, Daniel is incredibly dedicated to Rocket League. In 6Mans, where bubble players can get the attention of the pro scene by doing well in private 3v3 lobbies, Daniel shot up through the ranks with an impressive win rate. Before he knew it, Daniel was playing in the highest 6Mans divisions.

It’s not just 3v3 where Daniel shines. He’s also consistently high up on the 2v2 and 1v1 leaderboards. When Supersonic Legend got introduced, Daniel was the very first player to hit that rank in 1v1.

Daniel has been playing with bubble players and pro players, but never on a stage like the RLCS. Now, he’s got it all to prove. Can Daniel live up to the hype? Pros like Slater “retals” Thomas have said before that they can’t wait to see Daniel play in the RLCS. Some people have called Daniel ‘the next Firstkiller’. They believe that Daniel will quickly make a name for himself in the RLCS, and elevate any team to the next level.

Shift thinks: With this move, Rogue wants to secure a strong Winter Split, but also sign Daniel before anyone else picks him up. They would like to sign Daniel very early, before other teams want to make changes and offer Daniel a contract. Talents like him don’t become available often, so when they do, you have to act quickly.

As for Daniel, he might have jumped the gun a little bit, but he still has everything ahead of him. If it doesn’t work out with Rogue, other organisations will surely be ready to give him another chance. We wish Daniel the best of luck with his RLCS debut.
